Meet the Hosts of Driving Television

Our hosts have their own unique style in presenting information and insight into various aspects of the auto world. All share experience and extensive backgrounds in film, radio and television and bring a special element to the show.

Zack Spencer

Host of Driving Television Zack Spencer

As co-host of Driving Television Zack Spencer is one of the most respected Automotive Journalists in Canada. Entertaining, informative, and popular, Zack's reviews are carefully thought out. When he rates a car for driving and value for money, viewers know that Zack's opinion has been well researched and is reliable.

In 1992 Zack started his first auto review on a magazine show on Z95.3 FM called Streetbeat. While at Z95.3FM he moved his car reviews to television at DCTV with a show called Street Test. The show ran for 8 years receiving numerous cable awards including the national Galaxy award for best on-air performance.

In addition to Driving Television, Zack reviews cars for Global BC with a companion piece in the Province newspaper, plus provides his Driving Tips throughout the year on Global BC.

Born in Toronto, Zack started school in Scotland but returned to Canada to finish. He attended Fanshaw College in London, Ontario for radio broadcasting which landed him a job as an announcer and the assistant music director at the #1 Top 40 radio station CKSL.

Zack's career led him to Vancouver when he was chosen out of hundreds of applicants to help launch Z95.3 FM. His recognized talent led him to one of the most interesting times in his career as BCTV's entertainment reporter for Eye on the Street for seven years. Zack interviewed some of the biggest names in the music business including Sarah Mclachlan, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Five for Fighting and Michael Buble.

Since 1997 British Columbians have come to rely on Zack daily as the weather anchor on the Morning News and Noon News on Global Television.

Zack has continued to be an on-air personality on Clear FM, Rock 101, CKNW, Jack FM in Vancouver and BK Radio in the Kootenays. He also does commercial voice overs for clients including Future Shop, Terminal City, Japanese TV-NHK, London Place Eye Centre and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

When not at one of his many jobs Zack enjoys time traveling with his wife and two children and walking his dog (even if it is raining)!

Lacey Elliott

Host of Driving Television Lacey Elliott

Lacey has been co-hosting Driving Television for six years now and she loves every minute of it.

She was brought on board as an “average consumer” providing feedback opinions that the typical driver would want to know.

Most car purchases today are made by, or heavily influenced by women - what man would buy a new car without some input from his wife? Lacey’s reviews and opinions about vehicles continue to be valuable to both sexes.

Spending hours in the garage with her dad while he rebuilt his 1948 Ford, attending gatherings at the Alberta Ford V8 Flathead Club and taking road trips every summer are a few of the things that got Lacey hooked on cars.

As a teenager, instead of the usual "boy band" posters on her wall she had a purple Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari GTO, Porsche 911 Carerra and of course, Herbie the Love Bug!

Her first vehicle was a 1983 Pontiac J2000 and she spent many hours at the garage watching it undergo repairs and getting tune-ups. As a young woman, she found it empowering to know not only how to pump her own gas, but also to change the oil and a flat tire if needed.

Fast-forward to today, and Lacey is still amazed at how many women don’t know how to care for their cars. More times than not, women spend more time looking for the perfect pair of shoes than researching their car purchases. Lacey thoroughly enjoys aiding these women with the needed information to make an educated purchase. In doing so it reveals the most gratifying part of her co-hosting Driving Television, knowing she has helped women become more aware of what to look for when buying a vehicle.

Lacey continues to expand her knowledge by driving a different car every week (sometimes two), and getting to work with someone as experienced as Zack Spencer.

This industry has seen huge changes over the years and she likes that she can provide unbiased, honest and up to date feedback to her fans and viewers.

Engaged, and planning a wedding for 2013, her fiancé is her favorite person to take road trips with. When Lacey is not behind the wheel of a car, she loves to stay fit, read books and take walks on the beach.
