Hi Sack ... I'm not one to comment on reviews but since I thought the same thing you did ... that a GT Mustang is 10k less in the United States ... and since the truth is that in the U.S. they can have a plain jane GT and ours comes with leather, heated seats, lsd, sync and host of other things that when added to the U.S. spec car gets the price very close to the CDN price ... I thought I should send a comment ... in fact, with current Ford pricing the figures favour Canadian purchasers ... go figure :)

Liked your review apart from that bit about canadian pricing.

Cheers,
James

Zack! You don't have to order the Limiited slip diff because its standard on all 2011 Mustangs. Also the price difference on most comparable Mustangs is about $1000 which is pretty good. For some stupid reason, we can't get the base GT in Canada. many cars from $30-40,000 are $ 5000 cheaper in the US. (Audi A3, BMW 1 series, 3 series) I'm planning to get a v6 Coupe with the manual. The GT is great but my license and insurance would take a big hit. Great show! Keep up the good work.

Great show Zack (best in Canada for sure!)...

However, the comments about pricing of the Mustang in Canada vs the USA is more than a little off.

I'm not a dealer - just a recent Ford owner who has found Ford's pricing more than competitive in Canada.

Go to Ford.com for US pricing ''Build and Price'', and a GT ''Premium'' with Brembo brake package and upgraded interior rings in at $35,785...the same config in Canada comes in at $36,241!

Remember, the GT comes standard with leather in Canada, where the base GT in the US has cloth.

This is far closer (and I think fair given our CAD vs USD value) than companies such as Nissan, Honda, and even Hyundai is doing! Especially since some of their models are also built in Canada!!

Great work Ford, and really great price for over 400-hp!!

You commented that you can change to synthic oil at any time. I believe this is not true as a many vehicle must be broken in with at least 20,000,kms before using synthic oil. Synthic oil will not allow the engine to break-in properly because it's too slippery!

We unfortunately, purchased a Torrent in 2006, it was the biggest mistake of our lives! this is by far the worst car we have ever had, having had to put brakes on the beast 5 x, fix the air conditioning, something called the ADR or ARD, it's something to do with the engine cooling, anyhow, that alone was over 600bucks, of course NOT covered. Finally, after two short years of driving this lovely piece of machinery, the paint began to chip off in loonie/toonie sized pieces, it appears that there is NO primer on the vehicle the paint is falling off at a pace far greater than any other 2006 car I've seen. I contacted my GM dealer who tells me this is 'normal wear and tear' ha, ha ha! You show me another car of it's age with the same problem, I will eat it! GM itself, told me, sorry, youre out of luck, we can't help you! I would never buy another GM product as long as I live because of this treatment, good luck if you own one! here's hoping you can make it through the car wash with your paint still on the car on the way out, when the dryer comes on, I cringe inside thinking, it's going to be completely silver when it comes out (currently it's black, or was black rather) What a piece of trash GM manufactured, mine must have been built by some workers who were mad at their boss, or got shafted by GM, because this is a real lemon if ever there was one! Even the serviceman at the dealership tells me that it's too bad we don't have a 'frequent flyer' card, as we'd be able to travel the world times over if we did, he said ours has been in more than any other he's ever seen! Horrible horrible car....hey if ya got a buck fifty it's yours!
